Our Story

When we first met
John and Amanda met on a mission trip to Brazil where she was a translator between Portuguese and English. During the week, they had much time to spend talking to one another and when they went their separate ways they decided to stay in contact as friends.
June 21, 2019
Our first date
The next they saw each other in person was on November 9th. Amanda had decided to take some time to visit family in the US and while she was there took a trip to New Mexico.
John waited one day to have the official conversation about his intentions with her. After praying for a few weeks and speaking with the parents, they made it official and went on their first official date.
May 12, 2024
Engagement Pt. 1
Amanda left back to Brazil on March 5th after getting initially engaged in NYC to apply for the K1 Visa (Fiancé Visa).
June 21, 2024
Official official engagement
John throughout this time wanted to have an official, in-person conversation with her father before finalizing the engagement. So, he headed out to Brazil as soon as he could and landed on May 19th.
Very soon after, her family met to discuss the intentions of marriage and to better understand the story and desire from both parties.
After getting the in-person blessing, John proposed to Amanda (for the last time) on June 30th.
